'Glee' Season 6 News: Co-Creators Talk Series Finale and Blaine and Kurt's Future
For season 6 of "Glee," fans of a beloved pairing may find themselves in shock when a blast from the past disrupts what appears to be an improving relationship.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Max Adler is returning to the show to reprise his role as former bully turned gay guy Dave Karofsky. Adler will be appearing in four of the final 13 episodes of the series, and his arc will reportedly be a huge one as his character may get involved with Blaine (Darren Criss). It can be recalled that in season five, Blaine and Kurt (Chris Colfer) had a lot of problems but they appeared to have worked out their differences after performing at an event for guest star Shirley Maclaine's character.
News of Karofsky coming between Blaine and Kurt have definitely rattled the couple's fans, but co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk sat down with E! News and said that it's all going to be ok.
"You have to have obstacles to have a happy ending," said Murphy. "I've spent a year learning what they want. We have a list in the writers' room that says, 'What do the fans want to end that show?' And our endings are all very uplifting, and I think by the end of it, people will be ecstatic and really thrilled by how things turn out. I am."
As for the backlash about Karofsky's return, Falchuk said, "I have a lot of angry tweets. But look, it's a new season and we're exploring some stuff. We love Kurt. We love Blaine. We love them together. We love them apart. We love them all kinds of ways. And I think that their relationship is a really great place to explore some more complicated stories. Really, it's going to be ok."
In April, Murphy revealed that the final season would feature a time jump and focus more on the core original cast members. Slated to appear as guest stars are Heather Morris, Naya Rivera, Dianna Agron, and Mark Salling, among others.
The sixth and final season of "Glee" is slated to premiere in 2015.
