Glenn Beck Jeans Have Consumers Questioning Their Worth
Glenn Beck is an author, radio personality, activist, and now a designer. He has ventured into the fashion world with a new American-made brand of jeans.
Beck unveiled the line of jeans known as 1791, though the jeans are "extremely limited" in supply right now, according to Beck's statement.
"Rather than sit back and complain about yet another industry going overseas, Glenn decided to do something about it tasked the nascent 1791 clothing line … with making a new line of jeans that would be made entirely in America," the press statement continued.

The jeans, which retail for $129.99, will appeal to Beck's followers and those able to actually afford the clothing.
"Nothing against Beck, but he needs to stick to radio. I can buy eight to ten pairs of jeans for that. We'll pay for quality, but we won't overpay for anything," MarkD posted on DailyMail.com.
"Typical Beck… He claims he is doing it to support American workers and companies, yet charges the outrageous $130 for pants probably worth about $25. Who does he think he is, Jordache?" asked Jez3 on the site.
And Beck has stiff competition from other brands such as Levi's, which also makes its jeans in the United States.
"These were the first American blue jeans; the jeans that built America. And they were built in America. Built at a time when things were timeless, a time when you knew things would last, a time when people worked for their dreams and their dreams worked for them," an ad for the 1791 jeans states.
According to Beck, the idea for the name of his clothing line, 1791, is based upon the year the Bill of Rights was ratified. Beck has always been a political enthusiast, hosting his own radio and TV show expanded upon his beliefs. Now it appears he is hoping to share his beliefs through an entirely new venture- clothing.
