Gmail for Android Integrates Microsoft Exchange Accounts
Giant tech companies are getting a lot friendlier these days, or so it seems. Anyway, Google recently announced that its Gmail for Android email service has been updated with new feature that could provide millions of its users some convenience. This feature is in the form of support for Microsoft Exchange.
According to Venture Beat, Gmail for Android actually already had support for Exchange, but it was limited to the Nexus line of devices and nothing else. In this particular improvement on the other hand, the support now includes calendar data, contacts, and of course, mail.
Google finally realized that it didn't have a choice with regards to incorporating Exchange since the email services provided by the same, especially in the workplace and place of business is still unsurpassed.
Aside from the Exchange compatibility, Gmail for Android is now in full force in terms of Outlook.com integration, as well as Yahoo Mail and several other IMAP/POP accounts.

Google has been a bit more friendly to its users recently, which is actually quite good news. One proof of that is the unveiling of a service called Gmailify, wherein users get added features like inbox organization and spam protection without the need to change their email address or make a new one. In this case, those who are still using Outlook.com and/or Yahoo's email service can now "Gmailify" their email inboxes. It's also quite easy to do it – where a user will only need to open the downloaded Gmail app, sign in to the email account, and then toggle Gmailify to enable it.
Any news similar to this is something consumers should be happy about. It is not often that these giant companies, i.e. Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Yahoo work together to share the market in the hope of making life a lot more convenient for everyone who uses their services. Integration across different platforms should be seen as a rather positive effect of technology.
