Go Pro Hero 5 Black and Session Review, Pros and Cons: New Primary App Named for Action Camera
GoPro has just recently unveiled five new products that are sure to increase the company's leverage in the action camera and drone market once again. These products are the GoPro Hero 5 Black, GoPro Hero 5 Session, GoPro Karma, Karma Grip and the GoPro Plus.

The GoPro Hero 5 Black and Session has introduced new features to the GoPro brand that are based on improving user experience. Along with the pros, there are also cons; rooms for improvement which may be addressed in the next installment.

GoPro Hero 5 Session is worth $299.99. Some of the pros include the ability to shoot 4K videos aside from the 2.7k mode, effective voice commands, and built-in electronic image stabilization. There is room for improvement on the battery life, though, and also the screen could be a bit bigger to improve menu navigation. It doesn't help as well that the battery is built-in, so you can't swap it for a new one.
GoPro Hero 5 Black is worth $499. Unlike the Session, the Black has a touchscreen. It also has an effective voice command feature. In addition, it has a built-in waterproof feature that allows you to shoot videos as deep as 10 meters or 33 feet of water. Moreover, it has several advanced photo modes.
Hero 5 Black can improve over the following features. First, the touchscreen can be unresponsive sometimes. Battery life is also a problem; as the new features use up a lot of energy. Moreover, a couple of legacy accessories are not compatible with the Hero 5 Black.
One advantage of having built-in waterproofing is that you don't have to open up the waterproof case to access the memory card or charge the action camera after using it in water. It's much easier to swim with a smaller camera as well; without the bulkiness that comes with a waterproof casing.
Captur and GoPro Plus
Captur is the new name for the primary app one uses in tandem with the GoPro Hero 5. Setting up this app with your GoPro Hero 5 has been made so much easier than in previous versions. Now, all you have to do is turn on the action camera, and the app will locate the camera and that's it.
GoPro Plus is a cloud service worth $5/month which allows you to store lots of hours of video and tons of photos. In this feature, your photos and videos get automatically uploaded to the cloud once you're charging.
