'God of War 4' News and Updates: New Tandem Gameplay Revealed; Other Features and Details
The Santa Monica Studios development team is currently knuckling down on the anticipated mythological action-adventure game God of War 4, with new gameplay and features.
Tandem Gameplay
Since the new game's announcement in E3 back in June, not much was heard about God of War 4 other than its development. However, we are now getting glimpses of the bits and pieces of how this new game will eventually end up.
The new PlayStation 4 game is said to feature a brand new gameplay and an interesting storyline. God of War 4 will be featuring Kratos and his son on an epic adventure. The introduction of the dynamic duo also establishes a new combat style for the entire God of War franchise.
Due to the new featured characters coming in tandem, the camera properties have been overhauled as well. It will now be made to present an atmospheric experience similar to Resident Evil 4.
The game's Creative Director, Cory Barlog, later confirmed that he is considering a suggestion from a fan to incorporate a feature to customize combos in God of War 4. This will then be integrated into the new gameplay and storyline. As the combat system is currently in one of its most critical development stages, Barlog assures that it will be as competitive and satisfying, if not more, than the previous iterations of the game.
@SmartSkillz_01 yup. The combat in this game is going to be satisfying as hell to play.

More Changes to Come
The new God of War 4 also offers a different approach to the franchise. For the upcoming game, exploring the world will be one of its main features. The usual direct and arbitrary combat system with fixed camera angles will somewhat be replaced. The character of Kratos will now be contemplative too, as opposed to his angry and malevolent persona as a warrior in previous games. However, the replacement of TC Carson as the voice of Kratos was not received very well by some fans online.

Carson has been the voice of the Greek character in all of the game franchise's iteration. He said that the replacement was due to Sony deciding to go on a new direction. He will be replaced by Stargate SG-1 actor Christopher Judge.
Barlog then stated that some characters from the previous games in the franchise, such as Zeus, Athena, Callisto, Deimos, and more, would make an appearance on God of War 4. The game will be released exclusively on PlayStation 4, with a 2 target release set for 2017.
