'God of War' PS4 Rumors: With Upcoming Game Getting Prominent Ads In Spain, Will An Important Announcement Follow?

Still no release date currently known for the new 'God of War' PS4 game

The new "God of War" PlayStation 4 game is aiming to take the series in a significantly different direction, which is probably why so many fans are already eager to learn more about it.

More recently, the game made its way back into the headlines again after some ads prominently displaying Kratos and his son Atreus were spotted in Spain.

There was one ad – a picture of which was shared by PlayStation España – that shows the father and son duo plastered on the side of a building.

Another ad also features what looks to be the same image, but this time, it is smaller and it is apparently located inside the Madrid Metro, according to NeoGAF user "Guymelef."

Now, these particular ads seem to have been put up because of Father's Day in Spain, but there are still a few fans hinting that these could be indicators that developers have something big planned for later this year.

Going back to NeoGAF, some fans who commented on the emergence of the ad have indicated that this could be a sign that the new "God of War" PS4 game will be released before the end of 2017.

For what it is worth, the developers themselves have yet to even hint at any kind of release window for this new PS4 title, so while a 2017 release could be possible, it would also be very surprising.

On top of that, it is not even clear when more specific details about the game will be shared next.

On Twitter, director Cory Barlog was asked if there were any pieces of information that would be shared soon or before the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo. In response, Barlog simply stated that there are no revelations set to be shared yet and that the developers are continuing to work on the game.

Perhaps the ads really are nothing more than just unconventional reminders of Father's Day. But even if they are only that, it is clear that fans are still excited for the new "God of War" PS4 game, and hopefully for them, these will lead to more important announcements coming out sooner rather than later.
