'God of War': Why It Is Safe to Assume a 2017 Launch
The year 2017 is turning out to be a golden year for gaming, as great titles are coming out one after another. While big names are turning up, it appears another may be coming as there are reasons to believe a release date for the PlayStation exclusive "God of War" is just around the corner.
Just recently, voice artist Christopher Judge updated his Twitter account description, indicating his stint as Kratos in "God of War," which he captioned with the year 2017. This was quickly seen by eagle-eyed fans of the franchise and has become a hot topic in Reddit.
It can be recalled that Judge has confirmed his participation in the upcoming game last June 2016, which he made official in a tweet. Netizens quickly responded in glee and anticipation, saying that he is a perfect pick for the role of the god slayer.

This was not the only clue pointing to a possible 2017 release. Just this March 15, PlayStation Spain snapped a photo of a promotional material for "God of War" covering the front of a movie theater. It features Kratos with his son, Atreus, and has the words, "Mi papa le puede al tuyo," which roughly translates to "my dad can beat yours."
It appears that marketing for the game is going grand, to the point of having such a huge advertisement. This may lead to the assumption that indeed, Kratos and his son are coming back real soon.
The hunt for more evidences proving a close launch does not end there. Back in December 2016, a fan joked that the game may just be the deer hunting part, to which creative director Cory Balrog replied, saying he just finished a full playthrough. That alone says a lot about the game's development, and so it won't be surprising if they announce an official launch soon.
"God of War" does not have a confirmed release date yet, but there are a lot of reasons to think that it's coming this year.
