Golden State Warriors Beat Minnesota Timberwolves to Secure 63rd Win

It was a close battle but the Warriors pulled out a win.

Locking in their 63rd win of the National Basketball Association season, the Golden State Warriors escaped with a 109-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Played at the Target Center, the Warriors had a surprise challenge from the Wolves at the Target Center as they were up to the challenge against the defending champions.

In fact, they led after the first quarter 29-27 to the surprise of many.

However, the Warriors regained the lead by half time thanks to a 34-point output in the second quarter that was slightly better than the Wolves who, again, scored 29 points in the second frame.

In the third quarter, the Wolves stuck together and did not allow the Warriors to play their usual game as they caught up with the defending champions to be level after three quarters.

When the final quarter of play resumed, both teams were trading baskets and defensive stops as the Wolves were looking really good against a team that should have beaten them easily thanks to how they have played in general this season.

However, the Wolves hung rough and were within striking range but could not get over the hump to beat the Warriors.

At one point, Golden State were up by four points with only a few second left in the game and Andrew Wiggins was fouled by Stephen Curry while taking a three-point shot which gave Minnesota a chance to cut the lead to one.

Unfortunately, nerves set in as Wiggins missed the first shot and made the second, giving the Wolves a tough spot as Wiggins needed to miss the third to give them a chance to tie the game with an offensive rebound and a shot.

It did not materialize and the Warriors came away with the win and are now preparing to face the Los Angeles Clippers.

Wiggins had 25 points for the Wolves, while Karl-Anthony Towns scored 24 to help as well.

As for the Warriors, Curry had 19, while Klay Thompson added 17. It was Draymond Green who had a great game with 24 points on the night.
