They showed their strength early in the post-season as the Warriors have yet to be defeated in the playoffs after sweeping the raw New Orleans Pelicans in four games.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been their usual as they shot the ball with great efficiency to blow out games for the win, while role players like Draymond Green and Harrison Barnes have continued their impressive play as they come on as excellent back-ups.
On the other hand, the Grizzlies beat another up-and-coming team in the Portland Trail Blazers in their opening round, winning the series 4-1 while limiting the young squad to settle for contested shots and difficult plays. Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol have been stellar in controlling the paint and notching double-doubles en route to victories.
In the regular season, these two teams met three times with Golden State winning the series 2-1.
Memphis won the first game 105-98 as they played at home but the Warriors responded with a crushing 107-84 win the next time they played.
In their final meeting early in April, the Warriors played at home and built an early lead over the Grizzlies and dominated until the third quarter.
Memphis mounted a comeback in the fourth, scoring 41 points while only allowing 18 for Golden State but they fell short as the Warriors still won 111-107.
