'Goliath' Season 2 News: Billy Bob Thornton to Reprise His Role, Return of Other Cast Members Not Confirmed Just Yet
Clyde Phillips also joining 'Goliath' for season 2 as one of the showrunners
"Goliath" has recently been given the green light to push ahead with a second season, but to this point, what the next set of episodes will be like still remains largely unclear.
First off, while it's been confirmed that lead actor Billy Bob Thornton will be back to reprise his role as Billy McBride, it's still unclear who else will be joining him in the sophomore offering of the series.
Speaking previously to The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer David E. Kelley shared that some but not all of the characters featured in season 1 will be back in season 2.
More specific details about this are not known just yet, which may be frustrating for fans who are still hoping that their favorite characters will be returning.
Season 2 of "Goliath" will also be about a new case, according to Kelley. He also shared that "there are other cases that come behind it."
Yet another reason why the second season of this show could be significantly different from the first is due to the addition of a new showrunner. According to a separate report from The Hollywood Reporter, former "Dexter" showrunner Clyde Phillips has now been brought on to work on "Goliath" for this upcoming season.
Phillips has reportedly been added to the executive production team to work on the day-to-day duties that need to be taken care of with regards to the series.
Exactly how the addition of Phillips will affect the show moving forward is unknown at this time, though fans should start hearing more about that soon enough.
An exact release date for the second season of this series has not been determined just yet, but fans can reportedly expect to see it before the end of the year.
More news about the second season of "Goliath" should be made available in the near future.
