'Good Omens' Spoilers: David Tennant and Michael Sheen in Costume
Bestselling author Neil Gaiman has been documenting the process of bringing "Good Omens" from the pages to the small screen on his social media.
In his latest post on Instagram, the novelist shared a first look photo of lead stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen in full costume as they start their "ineffable" journey as Crowley and Aziraphale.
Fans are very happy about what they see. In fact, when news about Tennant and Sheen's casting surfaced, many were already convinced they were born to play the roles. Seeing them in getup has fans much more excited about "Good Omens."
For the uninitiated, Crowley is a demon while Aziraphale is an angel — both were sent to Earth by their respective bosses to aid in the descending of the apocalypse to the world.
However, they decided to sabotage the whole end of times drama after getting used to their comfortable life on Earth and growing fond of humanity.
"Good Omens" is a book Gaiman co-wrote with the late Terry Pratchett. Released in 1990, the novel (versions of it, at least) includes an interview with the authors about their masterpiece after it was published.
There, the former expressed interest in doing a movie based on it while the latter believed that it will never happen. Interestingly, many years later, a series based on it is now in the works.
"Good Omens" has the subtitles "The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch," which is a reference to the tome that holds the exact accounts of the events leading up to the apocalypse.
Filming for the small screen adaptation has officially begun. Gaiman has also been sharing photos of the props on the show that fans who read the book will recognize.
This includes the teapot collection owned by a character named Madame Tracy and the "official scissors" of Sergeant Shadwell. The author also showed a photo of Aziraphale's snuffbox collection.
"Good Omens" will premiere on Amazon sometime in 2019.
