Google adds new 'block' button and 'unsubscribe' feature to Gmail app and web users
Google has just announced that they will now add a "block" button to both web and app versions of Gmail.
Gmail users can now live almost "spam" free with the new feature that the tech company has added to its app and web version. The Internet company has added the "block" button and an "unsubscribe" feature to help protect Gmail users from unwanted messages.
The new update is expected to roll out next week for the Android app version, and web users were able to see the new features last Sept. 22.
According to The Verge, Gmail app and web subscribers will now have an ability to block specific mailers from their inbox, and new messages from these senders will automatically be routed to the spam folder. The new feature is different from the old Gmail capability since "block" button will be easier to access.
In addition, iDigital Times reported that Google really doesn't have the power to totally stop these senders to email messages, but with the new feature that was added, it will at least help rerouting "unwanted" emails to the spam folder.
Another feature that Google has also added is the "unsubscribe" option. Gmail subscribers just need to go to "More" from the drop-down menu, and select unsubscribe. This way, the users will be removed from the mailing list of the sender directly. If the user wants to reverse the "unsubscribe" action, they just need to go to the Gmail app's settings.
With the two new enhanced features that Google is offering for their Gmail subscribers via web and Android apps, users can now be guaranteed that the tech giant is making all things more secure and private. Once the update is available next week, a message will automatically show on the notifications bar.
