Google Chrome is World’s No. 2 Internet Browser
Google Chrome is the world’s second most used Internet browser replacing Mozilla’s Firefox.
The browser launched just three years ago and jumped from being used scarcely to controlling 25.69-percent of all users surfing the web.
StatCounter, an Internet analytics firm that still places Microsoft’s Internet Explorer at the top of the list, compiled the data.
The big ‘E’ continues to dominate with an astounding 40.63-percent.
Firefox did not fall too far behind, because it barely trails Google Chrome at 25.23-percent.
Chrome’s growth can largely be attributed to Google releasing a new version of the browser every six weeks.
Updates are being made constantly to Google Chrome so that keep it ahead of the pack while avoiding bugs.
Mozilla recently employed a similar strategy by releasing a Firefox update every five weeks.
Google created some new industry standards with Chrome that Internet explorer and Firefox have both adopted.
Statistics taken strictly from the United States varied.
Internet explorer controls a greater share in America with 50.66-percent.
Firefox remains at second place in the U.S. with 20.09-percent down from 26.75-percent in November 2010.
Chrome's share is much lower in the United States having just 17.3-percent.
However, that number is a significant boost from last year’s figure for Google’s Internet browser that only had 10.89-percent in 2010.
Apple’s Safari browser has 10.76 percent.
Google seems to be experiencing growth all over with its Chrome browser, but it still has a long way to go before it can truly compete with Internet Explorer.
