The Google Glass was an expensive venture from Google. It was under the "Explorer Programme" to test what truly works for a wearable device.

It made its way on the Consumer Electronics Trade Show in Las Vegas last year. The Google Glass was sold for a whopping $1,500 and almost all of the participants were wearing the device.

The scene was not the same for this year's CES, the Google Glass was not that popular anymore among the participants. Although the Glass was highly available and was sold for lower prices especially in the U.K., only a few people actually wore the gadget.

Despite Google's statement that it is moving forward to better things, speculations rose that the sole reason is it has failed due to social rejection. Google Glass was highly capable of taking videos and pictures while the user is wearing it and as a result it was banned from public places such as banks, theatres and bars.

Some tech reviewers even reported that they found the Google Glass "not so useful." Other reports say that wearing the glass in public places earned them skeptical looks from other people. Some are so suspicious of the wearable gadget that they requested the user remove it while on public transportation.

The Google Glass may disappear soon but fans are on the lookout for the next innovation from the giant company.
