Google Nexus Rumors: HTC Rumored To Be Working On Two Nexus Devices
The year 2015 was not a good year for Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC. The company has reportedly been experiencing its worst earning losses, with a record 8 billion Taiwanese dollars lost in the 2nd quarter of 2015. According to a BGR report, HTC smartphone sales have been affected by the strong performance of other competitors in the market such as Xiaomi.
If recent reports are true, the year 2016 may yet become a better year for HTC. According to the BGR report, a new rumor posted on the Chinese site, Weibo, said that HTC has been considered by Google to manufacture the next generation Nexus phone. The other good news is that like 2015, this year will also bring not just one, but two new Nexus phones.
If HTC is indeed working on two new Nexus phones, this may spell a big difference in the company's earnings this year, as well as its reputation in the smartphone market. The company's performance this year, according to the report, was greatly affected by the disappointment that was the HTC One M9, as well as the controversial iPhone look-a-like, the HTC One A9.

The Nexus phones that are rumored to be in the works are one with a 5-inch display and another with a 5.5-inch display. Both phones are expected to come pre-installed with the next iteration of the Android OS, the yet unnamed Android N. No other spec details were provided.
A Tech Times report cited another leak via Twitter user LIabTooFeR, who said that the codenames of the HTC Nexus devices are T50 (for the 5-inch device) and T55 (for the 5.5-inch device).
This will not be the first time that HTC will work with Google on a Nexus device. Google's first Nexus phone, the HTC Nexus One, was in collaboration with HTC. In 2014, HTC also worked with Google on the Nexus 9 tablet.
