Google Pixel 2 Gets A $100 Discount and a 2-Year Warranty Period
The race for introducing the best flagship smartphones has intensified in the past year, as tech giants introduced the newest in their respective lineups. Google's unveiling of the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL was troubled, considering that the search giant tried to keep the hype for their flagships amid the announcements of Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 and Apple's iPhone X.
Given that the latter's release date is nearing, Google seems to be determined to grab the attention of the consumers as recent reports have revealed that the Pixel 2 will have a $100 discount on the launch day of the iPhone X.
According to reports, Andoird users who have been waiting to buy the Google Pixel 2 can do so for a discount through Best Buy. The offer has been available for a few weeks now, but its availability on the iPhone X launch day on Nov. 3 might be a move from the search giant to attract Apple fans who will be frustrated by the long lines outside retail stores. Furthermore, the iPhone X costs twice as much as the Google Pixel 2, which should entice some of the consumers.
Aside from the hefty discount from Best Buy, Google has made an even more attractive offer by extending the warranty to two years.
"We're very confident that the Pixel 2 delivers an exceptional smartphone experience, and to give users peace of mind, every Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will now come with a 2-year warranty worldwide," Google's vice president for product management announced in a statement in a Google Forum.
The discounted Google Pixel 2 will be sold with a two-year contract. The 64 GB model will cost $22.91 per month, while the 128 GB will be sold for $27.08 per month instead of $31.25. The Google Pixel 2 XL is not part of the deal. As to whether or not this will boost the sales for Google's flagships, fans will have to wait and see.
