This aspect will define the performance of both the devices in the market as they offer completely different things. On paper, the Samsung offering is set to introduce something new.

If the reports about its new-fangled display technology are any indication, the Samsung Galaxy X 2017 will be the first to boast such design.

While the clamshell style display is not new to the mobile scene, Samsung Galaxy X 2017 will take it up a notch by using super active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) displays with excellent pixel resolution.

The Google Pixel 2's edge-to-edge display, on the other hand, is not something new and is in fact something that Samsung has explored in the past.

However, the software giant is expected to set up a new spin to the technology so that the Google Pixel 2 will stand out from the rest of curved display-boasting flagships out there.

The device will reportedly come with two screens, divided in the middle with a mechanical hinge. When extended fully, it transforms into a tablet. Folded, it becomes more manageable to carry.

On the processing side of things, both devices are said to come equipped with the Snapdragon 835 processor, the latest Qualcomm has to offer.

Both the Google Pixel 2 and the Samsung Galaxy X 2017 are expected to be water and dustproof so there will be no issues on the build quality.

As for the pricing, the economical would go for the Google Pixel 2, which is reportedly getting a $649 price tag. The Samsung Galaxy X 2017 is said to come with a much bigger price of $1,000.
