Google Pixelbook Review: On the Hefty Price Tag and the Android Integration

The advent of modern-day technology has encouraged the world to demand devices that are portable and at the same time, powerful. Google was determined to fulfill that demand, and that is what the PIxelbook was expected to embody.

Given the abundance of powerful laptops in the market today, fans are wondering if the hefty price tag on the Google Pixelbook is worth it. Here is everything that the critics have to say about the search giant's latest flagship in the laptop market.

According to The Telegraph, the Google Pixelbook is a step toward the right direction for the search giant, who introduced the underwhelming Chromebook. Compared to its predecessor, the Pixelbook is significantly more powerful and is equipped with a lot of firsts for Google's laptop lineup. It now has support for Google Assistant and features Andoird integration. Considering that the Chromebook was criticized for the limited apps, Google rectified the situation through the Android integration. Furthermore, the backlit keyboard is comfortable, easy to use, and aesthetically pleasing.

Meanwhile, Ars Technica pinpointed the cons of the Google Pixelbook. Given that the Pixelbook Pen costs an additional $99, many would expect that it offers a lot more features for the two-in-one laptop. However, it seems that Google has much to do as the Pen latency did not seem consistent enough. Furthermore, the voice commands only work when the Pixelbook's screen is on. Finally, though the number of apps has significantly increased, it would be much appreciated if the search giant could include support for apps that other companies made in collaboration with them.

The verdict of the critics on the Google Pixelbook seems unanimous: the limited capabilities of the device might not be worth $999 price tag. However, for a laptop that doubles as a tablet, Google is on the right path, and it might be a matter of time before they introduce a device that can compete with Apple's Macbook or Window's Surface.
