GoPro Hero 5 Rumors and Release Date: Karma Drone Compatibility, Voice Commands, Leaked Photos and GoPro Plus Coming with Action Cam
The leaked GoPro Hero 5 User Manual has offered a lot of interesting new additions to the GoPro. This includes voice command, which promises to make using GoPro even easier. Let's look at some of the latest GoPro Hero 5 rumors.
Karma Drone Compatibility
Karma is GoPro's first drone. The announcement of this device is yet to be announced, but already people are insinuating that the release of both the drone and GoPro Hero 5 will be done simultaneously.
As such, experts and fans believe that the GoPro Hero 5 will have compatibility features with the Karma. Launch date will most likely be done during December, where sales are high due to Christmas. Otherwise, stockholders won't be too happy. If this is the case, then an announcement during October or November about the price (rumored around $400-500 for the GoPro Hero 5) and release date is to be expected.
Voice Commands
The new voice command feature comes with 10 different voice controls. These controls include the following: "GoPro turn on" – turns on the camera. "GoPro turn off" = turns off the camera. "GoPro start video" – starts video capture. "GoPro HiLight" – HiLight Tag is added to the video, "That was sick" does the same effect.
"GoPro stop video" – video capturing is stopped. "GoPro take photo" – one picture is taken. "GoPro shoot burst" – multiple photos are taken. "GoPro start time lapse" – time lapse photos are captured. "GoPro stop time lapse." – time lapse photos stop capturing.
Some are saying that the command, "That was sick," may be fake. It's because in the manual, it is written with a different fond; kind of like somebody just added it in there.
Photos leaked
PetaPixel tweeted a bunch of photos that supposedly show the upcoming GoPro Hero 5. From the way it looks, the device looks like a combo between Hero Session and Hero 4.
The GoPro Hero 5 is expected to be waterproof, but only to a certain depth of water. To go deeper, external casing is required.
GoPro Plus
Provided that the leaked user manual is legit, a cloud service called "GoPro Plus" will let GoPro Hero 5 users upload video footage to the cloud. This is done by plugging your camera, waiting until it is fully charged, and then your footages will instantly be uploaded.
These videos can then be downloaded to your desktop or mobile devices, where you can use GoPro apps to edit them.
