First off, alleged images of the GoPro Hero 5 have been released. They can be viewed here. These images provide details regarding the dimensions of the device, some external features, and clues suggesting that the device will be mass produced.
The leaked photos show that the camera doesn't look too different from the Hero 4. There's one difference though; it seems that a touch screen will replace the buttons from the previous version, and there is a noticeable absence of a front button.
Cloud Service
The Verge reports that a user manual for the GoPro Hero 5 has been leaked. This manual contains, among others, information about the action camera's cloud service.
While incomplete, the manual shows that by plugging your camera, then fully charging it, your videos will immediately be uploaded to your account in GoPro Plus.
New Specs
An image found in Imgur shows a "Super Suit" for the GoPro Hero 5 which will make your device work under water. The GoPro itself can survive depths of at most 10 feet; beyond this, the "Super Suit" may be needed.
The user manual reveals that the imaging chip used in Hero 5 will be similar to the one used in Hero 4. If this is the case, then the maximum video quality available for the Hero 5 will be 4K at 30 fps. There will be lower quality video modes too.
Rumors also point to voice control, wherein a user will be able to shout phrases for automatic GoPro Hero 5 actions. For example, a user can say "GoPro turn on," and the action camera will turn on. Or he can say, "That was sick!" to include a HiLight tag on the video you are shooting.
Release Date
According to Nicholas Woodman, chief executive of GoPro, "Later this year we will introduce the most connected and convenient GoPro we have ever made, Hero 5." Nobody knows for sure exactly when this will be, and the company isn't giving any details about the action camera's developments.
Some tech experts believe that the GoPro Hero 5 will be released in October this year.
Price
Tech analysts predict that the GoPro Hero 5 will be worth around $450 to $550, which makes it more expensive than Hero Session, which is worth $199.
