GoPro Hero 5 Rumors and Update: Expected in October, Specs Include 8K Video Quality, Dual Lens Camera
GoPro users have been long waiting for the company's Hero 5 model. Fortunately, the waiting will be cut soon as the action camera is said to hit store shelves sometime this year. As detailed in NewsEveryday, the GoPro Hero 5 is rumored to come out to the world in the second half of the year, particularly in October.
Although there is no specific date yet and the October release window is not yet official, it has been confirmed already by GoPro CEO Nick Woodman that the new action camera will be indeed unveiled this year. He made the announcement during a conference call back in February, as noted in Yahoo! Finance. The new gadget could have come earlier though after it was speculated last year to come out in early 2016.
However, as noted in Vine Report, the Hero 5 will not be able to make it early because of the company's other major device that is coming as well this year. Sources say that GoPro's Karma Drone will also be launched this 2016. It is expected to be out in the first half of the year, probably sometime around May or June, which means that the company is putting their focus on it first.

As for the specs and features of the Hero 5, there are no official information yet but speculations say that the upcoming outdoor camera will be carrying an improved 8K video quality, which means that it will be very powerful in terms of delivering video footages. It's also said that the GoPro Hero 5 will be more compact and more portable than its predecessor. It's expected to be 50 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter.
Aside from that, the device is purported to feature a dual lens camera for an improved photo output and a better waterproof capability that works well even under 60 meters deep. The action camera is also said to have been made with the capability to shoot 60 frames per second and is compatible with the Karma Drone.
