GoPro Hero 6 Black News: Leaked Photo Teases New Features

A leaked photo of the upcoming GoPro Hero 6 Black might have revealed the improved features that the new action camera will have.

Photo Rumors received a photo of the new GoPro Hero 6 Black along with its original packaging, which might have revealed the new action camera's upcoming features.

The new GoPro, which looks a lot similar to the previous Hero 5 version, could have a 4K video quality that records at 60 frames per second (fps). This will be the first time that a GoPro will have a 4K60 feature, TechRadar notes. The GoPro Hero 5 only had a 4K video quality that records at 30 frames per second.

For those who don't appreciate the quality of doubling the frames per second, iWazzuu posted a side-by-side shot of a 30fps video with a 60fps clip of the same scenario.

The 39-second clip showed how clearer and better the quality of the video was with 60 frames per second, especially when it was in slow motion.

Another feature that was leaked from the photo was that the new GoPro Hero 6 Black will be similar to its predecessor, having also a 12-megapixel sensor. Also noted on the packaging is that the new Hero 6 can be submerged in water up to 33 feet.

No other features of the new GoPro Hero 6 Black have surfaced.

In terms of pricing, it is not expected that the new GoPro Hero 6 Black will fall far from the Hero 5, which was valued at an entry level of $399.

Meanwhile, The Verge reports that GoPro has recently lost a chunk of their profits and even went to the lengths of letting some of their staff members go last year. But with the launch of the GoPro Hero 5 Session and the Hero 5 Black model that followed, the company might be getting back on their feet.

The new GoPro Hero 6 Black is expected to be launched this Thursday, Sept. 28.
