'Gotham' Season 2 Cast News, Spoilers: "Knock, Knock" Synopsis Revealed; New DC Comic Villain Cast

Two episodes into the new season of Fox's hit crime-fighting drama TV series "Gotham" and things are already getting intense as what this synopsis for Episode 2 titled "Knock, Knock" suggests.

Getting the details from The Futon Critic, the summary indicates that a new high-profile case involving the multiple inmate escape from Arkham Asylum will fall on the desk of the newly-reinstated GCPD detective, James Gordon. On the other hand, Theo Galavan plans his next move to terrorize the titular city.

Fans may remember meeting Theo in the season 2 primer. He was introduced as a person with a goal to help the city rise from its murky state. However, it was later on revealed that he was behind the extraction of a number of Arkham patients, which include Season 1's Barbara Keen and Jerome Valeska.

Gordon, meanwhile, managed to reclaim his post in Gotham's police force with the help of Penguin. But, the latter didn't just give the favor easily this time. Jim has to collect some debts from a businessman, a mission that ends up with some bloody gun exchange.

Bruce and Alfred, on their part, managed to blow open the mysterious Batcave after so many attempts. Once inside, the young Wayne master found a note from his father who expected him to discover the hidden place. But the secrets of the cave are still intact. To uncover all these, the synopsis said that the future Dark Knight will call on the help of his father's old friend.

On related news, a new casting update arrived over the weekend indicating the arrival of DC Comics villain Eduardo Flamingo into the show.

Citing Variety.com, the part will be played by "Looking" star Raul Castillo who is slated to debut in the 9th episode.

For the uninitiated, Flamingo is considered one of the most dangerous hitmen who ranks high in viciousness and cold-bloodedness with Season 1 villain, Victor Zsaz. The newcomer, however, is known for his penchant of devouring his victim's faces after doing the crime.

"Gotham" Season 2 airs later today, Monday, at 8 p.m. on Fox.
