'Gotham' Season 2 Episode 17 Spoilers: Gordon Seeks Help Clear His Name; Penguin Grieves

Things are definitely getting more intense as the second season of Fox's hit crime fighting drama TV series "Gotham" continues this week with a brand new episode that will see Gordon getting desperate to get out of his current predicament. Meanwhile, it seems likely that with the sudden turn of events, the old murderous Penguin will return. What could have pushed him to revert to his old ways?

Spoiler alert for those who missed "Prisoners," Edward Nygma has been successful in his plan to make a living hell out of James Gordon's life. However, with some help from his partner Det. Bullock, the future GCPD commissioner got out of prison. When asked by Don Falcone to where he wants to go after the escape, he said that he wants to clear his name and find Lee.

The synopsis for the episode titled "Into The Woods" from the Futon Critic revealed that his desperation will force him to steal his case files which could be connected with the death of Theo Galavan and a member of the GCPD Strike Force. What he will do with the files is utterly shocking.

As teased by TFC, he will approach Nygma himself to ask for his help in clearing his name. As to how this will turn out between Gordon and Nygma, the fans will have to find out.

Meanwhile, Penguin will discover the truth behind the death of his father, Elijah Van Dahl. In was stated in the last episodes that Oswald is really a changed man. Free from his guilt and reformed to the core, the former mobster is now looking up to spend the rest of his life in the light. However, the evil schemes of his step-family may have just shattered this dream.

In "Prisoners," Grace and her children decided to poison Cobblepot but instead, the drink ended up to Van Dahl's hands.

Fans know too well the extent of what the Penguin can do given this kind of situation. Will the new episode unravel the return of his criminal self?
