Things are definitely getting more exciting and intense as the second season of Fox's hit DC TV series, "Gotham," moves on this week with a brand new episode that will see Bruce Wayne getting deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole. Meanwhile, Jim Gordon's already troubled life will be sent into further chaos when a person from the past shows at the doorstep.

Spoiler alert for those who missed "Into The Woods," fans were both delighted and terrified at the same time to see the return of Oswald Cobblepot as the killing machine, Penguin. Not that he wants it to, but his reversion to his old ways was somehow triggered with the loss of his father, Elijah, in the hands of his step-family.

The hour also saw Jim finally cleared from the crime that got him locked up in Black Gate prison. Moreover, he also gets to hunt down Edward Nygma and made him admit to the crimes. But the surprise for the Gotham City police never ended there because right before the show closed, he was greeted by Barbara.

The synopsis from The Futon Critic for the episode titled "Wrath of the Villains: Pinewood" teased that Barbara will attempt to "make amends" with her former boyfriend. It is yet to be known if the woman is indeed cured from her madness or if this is just her ploy to win Jim back. But in fairness with Hugo Strange, he was quite successful in transforming Penguin into a kind person. Will it be the same with Barbara?

Speaking of Strange, the Arkham Asylum resident psychiatrist will become an obstacle in Bruce's continuing investigation of his parents' death. Exactly how this come to happen is yet to be known. One thing is for sure though, the young Wayne master won't let himself be stopped by anyone in his mission to seek justice for Thomas and Martha.

"Gotham" Season 2 airs Mondays, at 8 on Fox.
