'Gotham' Season 2 News, Cast, Spoilers: Is Jerome Really Dead?
Before the season 2 of "Gotham" had premiered, it already started dropping hints about where the story is going to go. It was also mentioned that the series was not afraid to kill characters early in the show, and many expected that the death would be civilians since season 2 is the rise of the villains. However, after the last episode, it seems that the show is willing to keep the audiences guessing about what could happen in the story line.
Perhaps one of the shocking moments in the season so far is the death of Jerome Valeska (Cameron Monaghan). The turn of events was truly surprising as many assumed Jerome was being developed to take on the iconic villain, The Joker. With his laughter and deranged actions, many have easily pictured him slipping into the character. The confusion audiences felt for the particular episode was brought up during the "Gotham" panel in New York Comic-Con 2015.
According to Screen Rant, executive producer and writer John Stephens took this chance to tease fans about what could lie ahead after Jerome's "death," as he said, "If you watch the episodes closely, as they go forward this year you'll start seeing the seeds of the way that story will continue to develop. And we probably have not seen the last of that fellow." Following what Stephens had said, it may seem that there will be a way for Jerome to come back from the dead.
Right now, the ultimate big bad of the season is Theo Galavan (James Frain) as he is seen manipulating a number of characters to cause chaos in Gotham; however, it is unlikely that he will get his hands dirty. It is suspected that Theo and Jerome might have set up Jerome's death so that Theo can further move up certain evil plans he has for the city.
For now, fans look forward to how it will unfold when "Gotham" airs every Monday, 8 p.m. on Fox.
