'Gotham' season 2 plot news: Mazouz focuses on present Bruce Wayne
The upcoming sophomore episode of "Gotham" is expected to receive several improvements.
As the series continues to explore the backgrounds of heroes and villains, it was reported that season 2 of Gotham will explore a different vibe. According to actor Ben McKenzie, played by Detective Jim Gordon, the team of Gotham met up to produce a series that is more arranged. With that, fans will get to know more about the villains and explore the complex relationships between heroes and villains.
McKenzie stated, "If you remember the pilot episode it really wasn't a procedural pilot, it was what you would think would be a serialized show and we got sort of sidetracked into a procedural thing where we were introducing a villain, trying to catch that villain by the end of the episode and it really did a disservice to this sort of deep and rich history of Batman. There will never be a case of the week hopefully ever again and it will always have a serialized outline, which opens up the world to a much richer, deeper sort of relationship between all of the characters."
Actress Camren Bicondova, who played Selina Kyle also known as Catwoman, shared that the series is flexible with its story lines since they explore the origins of the villains and heroes. Her character is expected to form a friendship with a well-known DC comic villains.
Several villains will be featured in the season to come, such as Victor Zsasz (Anthony Carrigan), Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), and Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith). A new villain will also be introduced in the upcoming season. Played by James Frain, Theo Galavan is expected to cause trouble in season 2.
Meanwhile, fans will see the development of Bruce Wayne, played by David Mazouz, intro Batman. He will explore the past of his father, Thomas Wayne. Mazouz explained that he will take on the role presently as Bruce, instead of the idea that he is playing the iconic character of Batman.
The second season of Gotham is expected to air on Sept. 21.
