'Gotham' Season 3 - The Latest News Updates: Jim Gordon To Play a Different DC Character; The Release Date and Everything We Know So Far
"Gotham" season 2 concluded with Hugo Strange (BD Wong) in custody and Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) leaving Gotham city for a while. On the other hand, Mr. Freeze and Firefly escape, while Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is out and has a new found ability in enslaving minds.
It has been a season full of events and a round which was full of villains. Viewers are eager to see more of this exciting series and are looking forward for the third season.
As early as now, fans can expect more since Gotham is already renewed for a third season.

What To Expect
In the third season of the series, there have been reports that Mad Hatter may be joining the cast. This also will include the Tweedle Brothers and Solomon Grundy. Other appearances may also include Bane, Talon and the Joker.
Jim Gordon has been the center and has a big role in the series. He plays a heroic cop of the Gotham City Police Department and has spent most of his time during the first two seasons catching villains and clean up Gotham City. As the heroic cop that he is, he oftentimes puts his life in danger and he even has deals with the devil a lot of times.
During the final episode of "Gotham" season 2, Gordon has been seen to look for his significant other, Dr. Leslie Thompkins (Mekia Cox) who went away after the couple lost their unborn child.
In a recent report, McKenzie implied that the plot thread of him looking for his wife may not end up successful. He also stated that the new character of Calerie Vale (Jamie Chung) has been set up to be his new love interest. Furthermore, he also reported that he might be a different DC character in the middle of the season and that he will eventually take on a different persona.
Though there might be a whole lot of meaning with this statement from McKenzie since Gotham always has made a lot of character histories to suit the endings and a lot of possibilities may happen within a show. With the Heroes Will Fall theme of the series, it may be a possibility that McKenzie will take on a not so virtuous character.
This theme made fans become more excited and added more adventure to the show. Yet it is possible that Gordaon could play a different role since in the comics, he took the Batman persona for a while as a replacement for a then missing Bruce Wayne.
There is a lot to be expected for Gotham's third season and the show will premiere in September 19, 2016.
