'Gotham' Season 3B Spoilers: Bruce Meets New Nemesis

Bruce (David Mazouz) will find a new nemesis as he dwells more on the secrets of the mystery organization Court of Owls in the second half of the current installment of "Gotham."

According to the Los Angeles Times, young Wayne is set to meet supervillain Ra's Al Ghul, to be played by "Game of Thrones" alum Alexander Siddig. The actor has reportedly been cast in a recurring role for season 3B and would be introduced in one of the upcoming episodes in April. Al Ghul is the leader of the League of Shadows, a potent council who is behind a number of plots to overthrow people in power. Bruce will meet the supervillain while investigating the Court of Owls, which he believes is the mastermind behind all the unrest that has been happening in Gotham City.

Al Ghul is expected to bring his own brand of viciousness into the series. Alongside other villains like Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and Jerome (Cameron Monaghan), he is a force to be reckoned with. The Gotham City PD will have its hands full once again, trying to protect the citizens from the bad guys who want to control them.

Meanwhile, the promo released for the midseason premiere (titled "How the Riddler Got His Name") shows how Nygma is transforming to his evil alter ego, The Riddler. In the clip, he is shown wearing the villain's signature green suit. After killing Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), Nygma's journey to take over the city has begun.

Many fans think, however, that Taylor's character is not dead. As one of the main characters of the series, it seems inconceivable that he died alone in a dock without the others knowing what happened. Nygma shot his best friend as payback for killing his love interest, Isabella (guest star Chelsea Spack). Penguin's body sank into the sea while Nygma watched. It is entirely possible that the mayor of Gotham City will soon return to get his own revenge.

"Gotham" season 3 will return on April 24, 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
