'Gotham' Season 4 Episode 6 Spoilers: Jim Meets Professor Pyg

Jim (Ben McKenzie) will finally meet Professor Pyg (Michael Cerveris) in the upcoming episode of "Gotham."

In the episode titled "Hog Day Afternoon," the synopsis reveals that the Gotham City PD will track down a serial killer who has a bizarre modus operandi. The criminal has been assassinating cops and dressing them in severed pig heads. In the promo released, even the man is shown wearing a grotesque pig mask while interrogating Jim. For some reason, Jim is captured by the criminal and is tied in a chair. Professor Pyg is trying to educate him about the corruption happening in the GCPD. According to him, his only goal is to reveal the truth about the organization.

Jim will be joined by Bullock (Donal Logue) in the hunt for the serial killer. They must capture him before he can end more lives. No cop is safe while Professor Pyg is on the prowl. In an interview with Collider, Robin Lord Taylor, who plays Penguin, expressed how excited he was to work with Cerveris. According to him, the actor's Broadway background fits with the dark and larger than life themes of the show.

"Hands down one of my favorite, top five scenes of the entire series, we just shot last week. It's a huge, big climax scene in episode nine, which involves Professor Pyg, played by Michael Cerveris, who is the absolute best. It's a competition between him and Oswald, is what I can say. Michael is a perfect example of why the show being shot in New York City is so great," Taylor said.

Also in the episode, Sofia (Crystal Reed) will not give up in her quest to be in Penguin's good graces. She knows that her survival depends on the villain's decision. Elsewhere, Thompkins (Morena Baccarin), Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) and Grundy (Drew Powell) will find themselves taking advantage of Cherry's (Maria Benedict) generosity. The trio will reportedly end up seeking refuge at the latter's place.

"Gotham" season 4 airs Thursdays, at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
