'Gotham' Series Renewed for Season 3, Coming This Fall
American crime television series "Gotham" is staying in Fox for one more season. According to a report by TVLine, the network has given the green light to a season 3 of the show. The announcement was made David Madden, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company wherein he talked about how proud he is of the show.
"It takes a very special team to tell the tales of 'Gotham,'" said Fox president David Madden in a statement. "For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of 'Gotham' and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama. This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn't be more proud of this show."
As noted in Slash Film, "Gotham" season 3 will come with a total of 22 episodes and it will start airing this fall. The show is currently halfway through season 2 and it's also one of the several Fox shows that has been given an early renewal for the 2016-207 season. Other shows include "Empire," "Scream Queens," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," and "Bones."
While there are no details yet on what to expect in the third season, there are some spoilers for the current season. According to Variety, the upcoming episode of the show will have actor Paul Reubens ("The Pee-wee Herman Show") as a guest star. He will debut on episode 15 titled "Wrath of the Villains: Mad Grey Dawn" which will air on March 21. Reubens will play the role of Elijah Van Dahl who is the father of Robin Lord Taylor's Penguin.
Coming Soon also detailed that the upcoming episode of the prequel show will have Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Bullock (Donal Logue) investigate a museum robbery. What they don' know is that Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) is behind the crime for a risky game of cat-and-mouse.
