Graduating Class of Two in Juab County Utah: Friends Come Easy, Girls Less So
One Utah school, which recently celebrated graduation, boats one of the smallest graduation classes of the year.
Trevor Timm and Austin Lewis are two of the seniors in Juab County Utah that celebrated graduation over the weekend. However, unlike other Utah schools that prepared for classes well into the hundreds, Timm and Lewis are the only two in their graduating class.
"Just me and my best friend," Trevor Timm said in an interview with KSL. "It's really cool."
Lewis was given the honor of valedictorian but fortunately, Timm doesn't seem the least bit bitter about finishing in second.
"We tried hard to see who would get the higher grades," Lewis admitted, although not bringing attention to the fact that he had taken the edge on the competition.
"I knew he was gonna get it," a seemingly unphased Timm told KSL.
The two both attend West Desert High School in the small town of Partoun, where they have been friends since grade school. It is hard of course, not to get at least slightly intimate at West Desert, which boasts a total of 10 students ranging in grade 7-12.
The 10-student school also requires a multi-talented teacher which is exactly what they have, one teacher.
"We are small, but we try to run it like any other school," Zachary Taylor, the single man on the job said. "I get to know (the students) one on one, versus a class of 500 where I maybe know a name but I don't know who they are and where they're from and what their interests are."
The only problem for the two boys is dating. "Well, all the girls here right now are my cousins, so I don't date no one out here," Timm said. "If I want to date, I drive to town. That's for sure."
