'Gran Turismo' 7 Release: Game in Development Is Different from 'Gran Turismo Sport'
After the recent release of "Gran Turismo (GT) Sport," the developers explained that the game is different from "Gran Turismo 7," which is still in development.
When "Gran Turismo Sport" was announced during the Paris Games Week, SCEE President Jim Ryan clarified that the newly revealed game is not the same as the "Gran Turismo 7." The announcement has left some fans confused and heightened the anticipation of others, according to a Franchise Herald report cited by The Venture Capital (VC) Post.
Because of the confusion, Ryan further explained that GT Sport is a collaborative project with Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), and GT 7 is a totally different game. The developers promised that the latter will be release by 2017 at the latest, the report relays.
Meanwhile, Sony confirmed that "Gran Turismo Sport" will finally be made available for the PS4. However, as Ryan previously explained, GT Sport is neither the sequel to "Gran Turismo 6" nor a prologue for "Gran Turismo 5," Red Bull reports.
To make sure that GT Sport takes off, there are a few elements that it needs to add or improve on. First, it may have to include more than six tracks to challenge the players. In addition, Polyphony is already improving the visuals of the game, but it will need to work more on its audio effects to make the game more convincing for the players, the report details.
Other things that players would want to see in GT Sport include better rewards for the difficult challenges, wider range of car selection, better artificial intelligence, and seamless multiplayer mode.
As for GT 7, Polyphony announced that they are working hard to make sure that the game will have better visuals, artificial intelligence, sound effects, collision physics, car choices, and gameplay. Rumor has it that the seventh installment of the racing game franchise will also have support for virtual reality.
"Gran Turismo 7" beta is expected to be released next year, and the final version will be out by 2017.
