'Gran Turismo 7' Release: GT 7 Could Support PlayStation VR and Possibly Come with a 'Fast and Furious' Car
"Gran Turismo 7" from Sony and Polyphony Digital, which is expected to be released within this year or in 2016, could come with a new car. The much-awaited racing game could also possibly be playable in virtual reality as well.
"The Fast and the Furious" car confirmed to come to PlayStation 4
Kazunori Yamauchi, franchise creator and series producer, has confirmed that Sung Kang's 1973 Datsun 240Z, also known as the Fugu Z, will come with a "Gran Turismo" PlayStation 4 game. Gamers will have to wait for updates as Yamauchi did not reveal which "Gran Turismo" PlayStation 4 game that could be.
The Fugu Z can be seen in "The Fast and Furious" movie series as the car driven by Kang. It was built by Greddy Racing and partners and recently won the Best in Show during the 13th annual Gran Turismo
Award.
"Gran Turismo 7" could come with PlayStation VR capability
With the "Gran Turismo Sport" supporting Sony's very own virtual reality headset, the PlayStation VR, it is possible for "Gran Turismo 7" to sport the same capability.
Shuhei Yoshida, Sony Computer Entertainment president of worldwide studios, has spoken on at least two occasions about the possibility for "Gran Turismo" PlayStation 4 games to support virtual reality gaming.
"Many trial tests we've been doing, some genres just work fine," he told EuroGamer regarding virtual reality for games. "One of those genres is racing games. So when Gran Turismo comes out on PS4, I'd like to see it support PlayStation VR, yeah."
Aside from these, Yamauchi revealed in the 153rd issue of Games magazine that "Gran Turismo 7" will be a game that mirrors the current era (2015-2016) players live in. He added that as the game runs on PlayStation 4, gamers can expect to experience an "incredible difference" compared to its PS3 counterpart with everything "running naturally."
"Gran Turismo 7" will be the seventh major release from the game studio.
