Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC Pushed Aside for PS4 Version, Portuguese Retailer Leaks Release

Grand Theft Auto 5 might make it to the PS4 before the PC as a Portuguese retailer's listing of a version of the game for Sony's next-gen console was spotted this week.

Worten, a retailer that carries games has a listing for a PS4 version on its website that did not give an exact release date. The retailer was contacted by Eurogamer.pt and responded by saying "We have the information that Worten stores will sell the game in question." It is also asking for a deposit to confirm their pre-orders for the game.

Many assumed that Rockstar would be releasing the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V next, so the announcing of a PS4 version is quite unexpected.

Rumors of a Grand Theft Auto 5 PC version began surfacing in October shortly after the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions were released. Intel's Marketing Director Chris Silva predicted that GTAV was going to be released for PC. His statement was later confirmed by an anonymous source.

There was also a petition made up to bring GTAV to the PC and it reached 600,000 signatures by Oct. 18 2013. The earliest expected release date for the game is Q1 2014.

The PC Version was spotted earlier this year in bug logs chronicling separate builds of the game from April, 2009 to August, 2013.

This log that was attained by PC Gamer is over 150 pages and mentions the PC version of the game and brings up issues that would only affect that port.

"The document contains over 170 references to PC development bugs, numerous notes on DX11 support and a related 'smog' weather setting, mention of a 'lastgen' toggle used during development and bugs relating to 64-bit system testing," wrote PC Gamer.
