'Gravity Falls' Update: Animated Series Will Live On In 'Other Forms' Says Creator
The Disney animated series "Gravity Falls" will be saying farewell to the small screen after it airs its final episode on February 15 on Disney XD. But according to its creator, Alex Hirsch, this will not be the last that fans will see the series. According to Movie News Guide, Hirsch talked about the series and its beloved characters living on beyond the TV show.
This is going to be possible through the appearance of the show's character in another form. Disney Publishing recently shared the news that they will be publishing an issue of the Journal which focuses on "Gravity Falls," titled "Gravity Falls: Journal 3." The publication will be available in July 2016, according to the report.
The journal is said to be an "important part" of the story of "Gravity Falls" and it is currently open for pre-orders for fans who want to make sure they get a copy of the book. The report also mentioned another piece of news that an interactive game is in the works that will allow players to play as twins Dipper and Mabel as they try to save the world from the supernatural forces that they encounter. The game is said to be titled "Gravity Falls: Take Back the Falls." According to a post on The Slanted, the game will be launched on WATCH Disney XD sometime mid-February.
"Gravity Falls" is an animated series on Disney which started in June 2012 and ran for two seasons. It follows the story of twins Dipper and Mabel Pines while they spend their summer with their weird Grand-Uncle Stan in an equally weird place called Gravity Falls. The series has received critical acclaim and has won several awards from 2012 to the present.
Before the one-hour finale episode on February 15, a 68-hour marathon of the show will be aired on Disney XD starting February 12, 11 p.m. EST., so fans can watch all the episodes of the show before it airs its final episode.
