'Great News' Season 2 Spoilers: Katie Fails To Attend Awards Night Without Carol
Katie Wendelson (Briga Heelan) will make an appearance in a major award presentation in the next episode of "Great News" season 2.
According to the synopsis for the episode titled "Award Show," Katie will be present at the American Journalism Award ceremony after The Breakdown gets a nomination for the first time in years.
Since she will be in the midst of all the reporters that she idolizes all her life, she would do everything to avoid causing a scene during the award show. That is why she will not let her mother Carol (Andrea Martin) to ruin it for her by preventing her to attend the event. However, Katie's plans failed after Carol managed to secure a position as a seat-filler in the ceremony's venue. This forced her to babysit her mother all night.

The fourth episode of "Great News" will be aired by NBC on Thursday, Oct. 19, at 9:30 p.m. EDT.
In another news, series creator Tracey Wigfield addressed the controversial sexual harassment topic that was tackled in the previous episode of "Great News" involving the fictional TV station head Diana St. Tropez (guest star Tina Fey).
In an interview with Variety, Wigfield claimed that the episode titled "Honeypot!" was shown at a very appropriate time after the allegations about powerful film producer Harvey Weinstein's sexual misconducts against dozens of women in Hollywood.
But in the show, Wigfield revealed that they wanted to change the story where a woman in power will be the one who will harass her male subordinates.
"We wanted to show male characters being harassed and not believed to point out how unfair it is that female victims are often forced to defend themselves and aren't given the benefit of the doubt. You would never ask a man what he was doing in his boss's office late at night or if he was 'asking for it' because of what he was wearing. By putting men in that situation, we hoped to highlight the absurdity of it," Wigfield stated.
While the TV series approached the topic comically, Wigfield still pointed out that talking about the sexual assaults have relevance in the current events that are happening in Hollywood at the moment.
