'Green Lantern Corps' Movie News: Christina Wren Is Star Sapphire?

While it remains to be confirmed whether Christina Wren's Major Carrie Ferris character in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is, indeed, Carol Ferris, the actress has already expressed her excitement for her inclusion in the planned DC film, "Green Lantern Corps" in the event that her character is, indeed, who people suspect it to be.

"Yes! Yes!" she said. "Like, absolutely! I mean, super-huge fan. Would die to be a superhero. My whole childhood growing up, I wanted to be a superhero and we didn't really have the female superheroes who were in the limelight at the time….To get to grow up and do that would be really a dream come true, but I'm waiting as much as anyone else," Wren said when asked during the red-carpet premiere of the current blockbuster "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" if she is willing to be clad in a superhero costume courtesy of Carol Ferries, aka Star Sapphire.

Wren first caught the attention of the moviegoers via the 2013 Henry Cavill blockbuster "Man of Steel," with moviegoers remembering her saying "He's kind of hot," in reference to Superman after the Man of Steel appeals to the general to convince Washington not to doubt his intentions. However, DC fans became even more curious about Wren when speculations that she might actually be Carol Ferris/Star Sapphire, Green Lantern's love interest in the comic book rendition of the hero, started floating.

Meanwhile, there is still no confirmation about who will Green Lantern be in the upcoming DC and Warner Bros. "Justice League: Part 1" movie. In the "Justice League" animated series that ran on the Cartoon Network from 2001 to 2004 and in its follow up "Justice League Unlimited" that ran from 2004 to 2006, Green Lantern was one of the major superheroes on the show.It was speculated earlier that actor Dan Amboyer would play the role, but, as of this writing, this remains to be a speculation.

The most recent big screen live action feature of the ring-power wielding superhero was in 2011, which was top-billed by "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds. The movie received a lukewarm response from the moviegoers.
"Green Lantern Corps" is also rumored to bring two versions of Green Lantern together, Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

"Green Lantern Corps" is slated for a 2020 release date.
