'Grey's Anatomy' Season 11 Premiere Date, Cast Rumors: Geena Davies to Join, Episode 1 Title Revealed
It has been confirmed that Geena Davies will be joining the cast of "Grey's Anatomy" for its upcoming season.
The "Thelma and Louis" actress will have a major recurring arc on the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She will be one of the surgeons at the hospital previously known as Seattle Grace. Davies is no stranger to TV as some of her memorable roles include being the president for ABC's "Commander in Chief."
The website was also able to get some exclusive photos of a first look at Davies' character on the show, which will debut on the first episode of season 11.
The aforementioned episode is entitled "I Must Have Lost it on the Wind." As with previous "Grey's Anatomy" titles, the episode takes its title from a song. This one is from an Elton John song from the singer's 28th studio album "The Captain and the Kid."
In the pictures from THR, Davies is seen talking to Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw). It can be recalled that in the previous season, the two are looking to expand their family by way of surrogacy.
Show creator Shonda Rhimes spoke to THR and said that the upcoming season will see more aspects of Arizona and Callie's relationship.
"It's going to be revealed very quickly that it is a Band-Aid. It's going to open up the opportunity for them to finally explore everything that's wrong and whether or not they should be together at all or whether or not they want to be together at all," said Rhimes.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 11 premieres on Sept. 25 on ABC.
