'Grey's Anatomy' season 12 plot news: Bailey as new chief of surgery?

The second episode of "Grey's Anatomy" will soon be released, which made way for recent spoilers to excite fans for the other episodes.

With that, there were hints that fans will get to know more about Dr. Stephanie Edwards. Actress Jerrika Hinton spoke to "She Knows" about her character and how she related to the other character. She explained that she was experiencing a lot of pressure to live up to the relationship of Meredith and Cristina.

Meanwhile, the season is expected to feature more on her background. She said, "As she continues to find her way in the world of Grey Sloan, you'll find out more about her and where she comes from — how and why she's in this place, and why she is the kind of person that has no compunction about speaking out about what she feels is right."

It was also revealed, according to People, that her character will be experiencing a new love interest in the episodes to come. As for another character in the series, it was reported that Chandra Wilson returned for the first episode of the season, to reprise her role as Bailey in the second episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12. A recent promo video titled "Walking Tall" showed her terrifying the rest of the members of Grey Sloan. It was also said that her character will experience a change in attitude as she tries to get the role of chief of surgery.

However, she will be dealing with some competition for the position. Fortunately, she was able to obtain the title. However, the second episode will showcase how the rest of the surgeons will handle Bailey as the new chief of surgeon.

"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 episode 2 will air on Oct. 1.
