'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Plot News: Relationships Crumble in the Return of the Series
The upcoming episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12 is expected to show the fate of Jo and Alex's relationship.
The previous episode of the series, which was marked as the midseason finale of season 12, showed the two facing some major conflict in their relationship. Jo, played by Camilla Luddington, had finally told Alex, played by Justin Chambers, that she did not want to be in a relationship with him anymore. But it seemed as though Alex had something else in mind when he decided to ask her to marry him.
The episode ended without an answer from Jo. With that, the upcoming episode titled "The Sound of Silence" is expected to show what Jo had decided regarding Alex's life-changing question. Fans are torn in believing whether the two will progress their relationship with marriage or not.

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode will also shed some light on the tension between Owen Hunt, played by Kevin McKidd, and Nathan Riggs, played by Martin Henderson. McKidd recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about his character's progression for the rest of the season.
McKidd said, "We're going to get more, but not all of it, and not the key elements to it. We're going to get very enticing hints... and hints that people will be able to draw their own conclusions. The actual spelling of what happens is going to be saved until we come back."
However, they will not be the only ones with problems when "Grey's Anatomy" returns next year. It was reported that Amelia and Meredith will also be facing some obstacles in their relationship, especially after the midseason finale ended with them fighting. Apparently, Meredith will be asking Amelia to leave her house.
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 episode 9 is expected to return with more drama on ABC on Feb. 11, 2016.
