'Grimm' Season 5 Plot News: A Mournful Season

The upcoming season of "Grimm" is expected to return with a different vibe, compared to that in its previous seasons.

Since the previous season saw the death of Nick Burkhardt's (David Giuntoli) mother and lover Juliette Silverton, played by Bitsie Tulloch, the episodes to come will harbor a mournful tone.

According to the synopsis and teasers released for "Grimm" season 5, it was revealed that Nick will have to deal with the aftermath of these unfortunate events. The first episode of the season will be titled "The Grimm Identity," which will feature Monroe, played by Silas Weir Mitchell, Hank Griffin, played by Russell Hornsby, and Captain Season Renard, played by Sasha Roiz.

The premiere will show Juliette's funeral, which fans can expect to be a difficult time for Nick. With that, Monroe, Hank Griffin, and Captain will realize that Nick's behavior changed since the death of Juliette.

Like Nick, even fans were hoping that they will see the return of Juliette. However, during the San Diego Comic-Con a couple of months ago, the executive producer of the series, David Greenwalt, explained that Juliette will not return to the show anymore. Actor David Giuntoli also explained that they were already working on episodes further into the season, and so far, it did not have Tulloch present.

The season will then see Nick having to raise his baby Adalind Schade, played by Claire Coffee, without the help of Juliette. He will also be busy with his search for the truth, since the premiere will start to lead him to an FBI agent named Chavez, played by Elizabeth Rodriguez.

Along with Rodriguez, several other stars are expected to join the fifth season of "Grimm." It was reported that this includes Carlson Young and Madeline Brewer.

"Grimm" season 5 is expected to air this Oct. 30.
