'Grimm' Season 6 Finale Spoilers: Nick Travels Back Through Mirror to Reunite With Friends, Family
The fantasy crime drama "Grimm" has wrapped up its six-season run with an episode that took fans on a whirlwind of emotions. In the season 6 finale, Nick (David Giuntoli) approached his ancestors for help so he could save mankind.
Titled "The End," the episode culminated the NBC drama with a thrilling face-off between Nick and his greatest nemesis. It also followed Eve/Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), Rosalee (Bree Turner) and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) as they sought answers at the Spice Shop and came across something that eventually helped Nick gain an edge over his foe.
In the finale, Nick tried to bring his friends back through the mysterious stick but because of Zerstörer, it did not work. When he reunited with Monroe, Rosalee and Juliette, the three offered a rare potion that could help him fight Zerstörer.
To everyone's surprise, Juliette turned out to be Zerstörer's next victim. The episode took a shocking twist when Juliette's death was followed by four more deaths. However, there was no stopping Nick from going down without fighting Zerstörer.
Despite the series of tragic events, Nick was able to travel back through the mirror and be reunited with friends and family, who were all alive.
In an interview with Deadline, series creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf revealed their attempt to kill off a major character in the series.
"We toyed with it, but there was no real good reason to kill anybody off," said Kouf.
"We killed Renard [Sasha Roiz] once and then we killed Juliette once. And in our hearts we just couldn't bring ourselves to really [kill anyone] until the end. Tour de force for David Giuntoli, every single person that means something to him, taken from him," added Greenwalt.
The series creators revealed that the killer twist in the series finale was meant to take fans through the same emotional journey that Nick/Giuntoli had to go through.
The final episode of "Grimm" season 6 aired on March 31 on NBC.
