'GTA 5 Online Heists' Release Marred With Bugs, Rockstar Releases Update 1.08 With Bug Fixes
The much-awaited release of "Grand Theft Auto 5 Online Heists" downloadable content came on March 10. The release however was marred with bugs that prevented players from taking advantage of the new content.
According to Cinema Blend, the game's developer Rockstar Games received complaints that players were not able to the game's online servers. For Microsoft Xbox 360 owners, they also had problems logging in to Xbox Live or had problems finding matches. Rockstar Games and Microsoft were quick to take note of the technical issues that users were experiencing and were also quick to update users that their support teams were dealing with the bugs.
Some users took to Twitter and other social media platforms to voice their complaints. One user even went as far as sharing a screen capture of his experience with the Online Heists DLC.
On March 16, Rockstar Games made an announcement on their support page that they have addressed the multiplayer issue. The report confirmed that this was the case.
The latest DLC also brought other unusual bugs in some users, continued the report. It seems the appearance and gender of some players' multiplayer character "had been altered by the patch." This was also addressed by Rockstar. The report recommends the following steps that a player can take to change back their character: (1) Enter GTAV and load into Story Mode; (2) Pause the game; (3) Highlight the "ONLINE" tab; (4) Choose "Choose Character" and (5) Select your affected character. When the player logs onto GTA Online, the character's appearance should be restored.
Rockstar Games rolled out 1.08 stability and security bug-fix update for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles in Europe and the United States on March 13, according to a report in International Business Times.
This was not the first time GTA 5 had technical issues during release. The first time GTA 5 made live its multiplayer mode, players were not able to access the game's servers at all and their game progress was not saved or retained.
