'GTA 6' Release Date Pushed Back Beyond 2018?

"Grand Theft Auto" (GTA) 6's release date is rumored to have been pushed back beyond 2018 after Leslie Benzies left Rockstar Games.

Fans have been expecting "GTA 6" to be released in 2018, but it seems that the departure of a major production crew member has affected the schedule. On the other hand, the game was originally not planned to come out less than four years after the release of "GTA 5," according to Value Walk.

When "GTA 5" came out in 2015, the game made $1 billion in sales in just around one week. Its successful release should push Rockstar and Take-Two to make the next game just as successful.

There are also fans who are wondering if the release of "GTA 6" will come before or after the PlayStation (PS) 5. In the past, Microsoft and Sony have released their game consoles seven years apart. If the two companies still follow their old pattern, then the game will certainly precede the Xbox 2 and PS5, the report predicts.

Meanwhile, there are other rumors saying the sixth installment of the game will feature the largest map in the history of the game franchise. Rockstar is reportedly planning to include the full U.S. map in "GTA 6," the Gospel Herald reports.

In addition, Reddit user VermillionDemonFox leaked that the upcoming installment of the game will combine all the available "GTA" maps into one huge map. This will feature the San Andreas in the southwest area, and San Fiero will be found in San Franciso's original position.

It is worth noting that Rockstar has not yet confirmed any of the information in the rumor mill. Fans are urged to take the rumors about the game franchise with a grain of salt.

Now that Benzies has left Rockstar, there are speculations that "GTA 6" will be released in 2020 instead of the original schedule in 2018. More details on the popular video game's sixth installment are expected to surface in the coming months and years.
