'GTA 6' Rumors: Lack of End Point for 'GTA Online' Support Could Push Sequel's Arrival Further into the Future

The "Grand Theft Auto" franchise has turned into one of the most successful ones in gaming history, a true titan capable of dominating sales charts even long after its release. The currently available installment of the series is still receiving plenty of support from fans, though there are those who are also curious about when "GTA 6" may see the light of day.
It is natural to be curious about the sequel, as some fans may already be wondering about how the folks at Rockstar Games can take things further after what they have just provided.
Unfortunately for those sequel-seeking fans, they are likely going to have to wait a long time before the next installment of the series is released or even just announced.

During a recent interview with Game Informer, Rockstar director of design Imran Sarwar talked about all things "GTA Online."
Sarwar touched on the growth of the game, the success it has enjoyed and how players have reacted to it.
Near the end of the interview, Sarwar also hinted at the future of the multiplayer offering as he revealed that there is no established end point currently set for the rollout of more expansions and updates, though the arrival of "Red Dead Redemption 2" could alter the rate at which those are made available. Sarwar also indicated that the developers would like it if gamers split their time between "GTA Online" and "Red Dead Redemption 2" as soon as the latter is released.
While Sarwar's comments certainly bode well for "GTA Online," they may not be as positive for those hoping that "GTA 6" could be arriving sooner rather than later. That the developers do not even have an end point for "GTA Online" support is noteworthy, though hardly surprising given how profitable that game has proven to be.
In all likelihood, "GTA Online" is not going away anytime soon, and "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be factoring into the equation as well in the near future. If those two titles take up the bulk of Rockstar's time, then fans may be stuck waiting for "GTA 6" for quite a long time.
