GTA 5 Online Heists DLC Update Release Date: Still Not Launched, Possible Bundle With Next-Gen Ports?
Much to the impatience of GTA Online players, the much awaited Heists DLC is still not released by Rockstar. It is still unclear as to when the DLC will be released by the game company and there are no hints as to when it might be.
Fan-made website AreTheHeistsThereYet.com still bears the large, bold, "NOPE" word with the number of days counting up from GTA V's release up to when the Heists DLC will be released.
There are speculations though that the Heists DLC will be out soon – with a catch.
Currently, GTA V – and GTA Online along with it – has only been released for the Playstation 3, and Xbox 360 consoles. Earlier this year, Rockstar released a trailer for an high definition port for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.
The port however, is still to be released on the said consoles sometime later this year. Speculations place the Heists DLC release on the same time that the high definition ports will also be released. This means next-generation console ports of the game will be getting the Heists DLC as well.
The speculation further mentions that the Heists DLC included in the next-generation console port will not be available for the older-gen consoles. This means that Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will not be getting the Heists DLC on their copy of the game. The prospect of older-generation owners not getting the DLC is unlikely, however, as Rockstar will certainly receive backlash for that kind of move.
There are other speculations that the Heists DLC will be accompnying the 1.17 Patch. This is all well and good for either the next-gen and older-gen console owners but owners of the cheaper 12GB PlayStation 3 will need to swap to a larger capacity hard drive to get the patch.
