'GTA V' Online News, Update: Freemode Events Update Coming For Xbox One, PS4 and PC Next Week

The next update for Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto Online" comprises a series of new gameplay challenges called Freemode Events and according to latest reports, the new content is slated to roll out this September 15 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Among the many highlights of the update mentioned by Rockstar via its official website, RockstarGames.com, is the removal of menus, lobbies, and load times – a new advancement touted by the studio as a breakthrough in open world gaming.

The new accessibility uses the full potential of the latest-gen gaming consoles and hardware. Gamers can now jump immediately on their preferred activities with friends, crewmates, and game rivals.

Another surprising aspect of the Freemode Events is the "spontaneous" appearance of chaotic new games and challenges, including the recently-released contents like the King of the Castle and Hunt the Beast.

"One of these events can kick off at any given moment while in Freemode, and you can customize your session to decide exactly which ones will happen – so you can play as much or as little of this new content as you like," Rockstar's statement reads.

The King of the Castle, for instance, will certainly excite fans with its "every man for himself" turf war gameplay theme. The game simply pits players to climb and claim a piece of land. What comes next is rather hard as the players now have to do their best fending off everyone else from seizing the throne.

Other modes call players to "form fragile alliances and work together." The Hunt the Beast, in particular finds one volunteer player to be "temporarily transformed into a faster, stronger, beastly character who must escape relentless pursuers."

Other exciting modes from the Freemode Events also include insane stunt challenges involving "popping the longest wheelie, catching the most air in a land vehicle, or performing the most near misses in a vehicle without crashing."

Stay tuned for more updates.
