Guess Connect 2017 Release Date, Specs News: Stylish Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatches Announced

After dipping its toes to sample the wearable device market, Guess has now taken a plunge with the introduction of its latest Connect smartwatches powered by Android Wear.

Guess first launched the Connect smartwatch in 2015 as a hybrid timepiece powered by Martian technology. Now, the American fashion house has announced that it has partnered with Google and Qualcomm for the newest iteration of their smartwatch.

For 2017, the Connect smartwatch will come with Android Wear 2.0, the latest version of Google's operating system (OS) for wearable devices. It will also be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor. The smartwatch will be compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Other technical specifications have yet to be announced.

Guess is also giving customers more choices this time around. The all-new Connect smartwatch will be available in two versions. The first model is chic and stylish, specifically designed for ladies. It comes with a 41-mm watch face with clear crystals surrounding the case. It will also come in three colors: silver, gold and rose gold.

Meanwhile, the second version comes with a 44-mm watch face and features a sleek and sportier design for men.

Customers will be able to choose from hundreds of combinations of displays, colors and sub-dials, which can be customized with a simple swipe. The Connect smartwatch will also support interchangeable apps.

When it comes to features, Guess announced that the wearable device supports fitness apps for users to keep track of their daily goals. Also, input methods for messaging include a keyboard, Smart Reply and handwriting recognition.

"This relationship is truly fashion at your fingertips with touch technology in a trendy, versatile way giving consumers fun ways to create their own watch wardrobe all while staying connected — a true blend of fashion and lifestyle functionality," said Elizabeth Thompson, senior vice president, global production and marketing for Guess Watches.

The Guess Connect Android Wear 2.0 smartwatches will be available to purchase in fall/winter 2017. Pricing has yet to be announced.
