'Halo 5 Guardians' Xbox One Release Date News Update: Leaked Theme Music and Warzone Images Surfaces Online, Microsoft Calls Incident 'Unfortunate'
The theme music and the first images of multiplayer menu for "Halo 5: Guardians" new large-scale Warzone mode have leaked online last week.
The report from Destructoid.com said that despite its conclusion months ago, 343 Industries is still using the Halo 5 multiplayer beta client for closed testing. Although players who opted not to uninstall the application can't log in and join the backstage fun, they could still take a look at some of the content getting updated.
There are individuals who managed to get a glimpse of the new game menu screen for the 12 vs. 12 Warzone mode and have it compiled at NeoGAF. A report from Gamespot.com said that the photos show off what seems to be the title screen for Warzone as well as the menus which players need to access for them to customize their weapon skins, audio/video settings, controller settings, and avatar appearance, just to name a few.

The leaks also revealed the theme music of the upcoming title which was uploaded and can be listened to at the Halo Memes YouTube account. Halo director Frank O'Connor said that the bulk of the Halo 5 soundtrack was composed by Kazuma Jinnouchi whose previous works include "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots."
Several media outlets followed on the leaked report and asked Microsoft for their official statement on the issue. And just this week, the company released the confirmation saying the theme music and menu images are indeed legitimate.
"It's unfortunate when work-in-progress content leaks, but this Halo 5: Guardians content is part of our ongoing private, external testing for multiplayer. We will continue to rigorously test Halo 5: Guardians to ensure the best possible experience for fans at launch," Microsoft said.
"Halo 5: Guardians" is currently slated for an Oct. 27 release for Xbox One.
